I Own a small business – I’m not a leader!
Yes you are, you lead your customers, your suppliers and your team (if you have one) through delivering your service or product.
Leadership has 3 main components
✅ You – you need to recognise that you are a leader within your business and as a result you need to act like a leader. For each of us that is unique but we need to decide and start acting like a leader. You also need to understand your own behavioural tendencies so you can adjust to match others when communicating.
✅ Culture – you decide to build a team culture, if you don’t the dominant person associated with your business will decide the culture. Even if you are a solo entrepreneur you have a team of suppliers, contractors and customers. You can build a culture with them of acceptable behaviour. For example, the language used to communicate with each other could be formal, conversational or using the off expletives.
✅ Continual learning and improvement. Great leaders aren’t born, they develop over time through continual learning. One of the most important learnings is to recognise that we are all different and all have different preferences for how we like to receive information. As a Leader you need to recognise this and adjust your style to match the person you are communicating with. The same goes for how we show one another appreciation.
In our coaching program we make sure that you have sound understanding of these three components of Leadership.
If you want to understand this in more detail then book a discovery call with me to talk about being a leader in your busienss – no risk, no sales, just clarity on what you need to measure in your business
